Gary – Chicago Airport Expansion Will Finally Begin

Gary Chicago International Airport has long been awaiting an expansion. The project has been given the green light for take off. Officials in the Northwest Indiana region are in the hope that this will draw investors and create new jobs. The Northwest Indiana is experiencing one of the biggest developments in the economy of the region. The Post Tribune, Merrillville reported Mayor of Gary Rudy Clay as having said that the regions engine will turn on the groundbreaking Wednesday. The project will cost upwards of $ 153 Million and is expected to take up to two and a half years in completion. The project will be inclusive of extending the main runway of the airport from the present seven thousand to eight thousand nine hundred feet. Cancelled Flights – Tornado threatening East US

Thunderstorms and high winds resulted in flights going to Atlanta and New York to be delayed as the eastern and south east United States is being affected by severe weather. The planes heading toward the Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International, the busiest airport in the world, as well as the La Guardia Airport in New York were delayed until the storms lessened. This was announced at the official website of the Federal Aviation administration website. There were close to five hundred flights cancelled today, as the Flight Aware tracking service reported. Eight main states had areas that have a possibility of being affected by tornados, and are part of the tornado watches. Destructive storms may develop here. LaGuardia – Beeping Credit Card Machine sets off Bomb Scare

A flight preparing to take off from the LaGuardia Airport in New York on 14th April was evacuated as a result of a bomb scare. The bomb scare was a dud though, and a credit card reader that was running low on battery is blamed. The US airways Flight 2138 was just preparing for takeoff when alert passengers reported something ticking suspiciously in the cabin areas, as the airline spokesman reported. The plane was supposed to take off at 6 pm. As soon as passengers reported the problem, the tower was asked by the pilot to taxi the plane to a remote area and dispatched authorities. The plane was evacuated and all ninety nine passengers were helped out by the rescue workers. The passengers were taken to the terminal building, while the cargo hold and the cabin area of the plane was searched.  [...] 

Women Reports Being Molested by TSA Agent

Nancy Campbell, 33 years old, was in for a three minute ordeal before setting off from LaGuardia Airport, Chicago. Campbell was left humiliated after the security pat down by the TSA agent (Transportation Security Administration) when she was allegedly touched on the breast, crotch and inner thighs, after being asked to stand spread eagled. Campbell, an urban planner based in Brooklyn, said that the frisking felt more like fondling, and it continued on for three minutes. The incident happened as Campbell was heading to the gate after already clearing security. She was stopped by a female agent who asked her to stop and drop her luggage and stand spread eagled.
