New Zealand has many exotic locations to explore and it is served by its major airports that draw more tourists into the heart of the cities. Wellington International Airport is a small airport but serves immensely to the city of Wellington and enhances the glory of it as well. This airport is located on the Rongotai Isthmus at a distance of about 7 kilometre to the southeast of the Wellington city. The two main operators here are Quantas and Air New Zealand that offers services to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Fiji. This airport is operated by the Wellington International Airport Limited and the goal of this airport is ‘Wild at Heart’.

Development of phase one of the international terminal has included strong environmental values like a lot of recycling and make use of natural materials. Lifts and toilets have been renovated here along with aerobridges. With this lounge seats have also been reupholstered and there has also been recycling and recovering of ceiling tiles. Security cameras, PA, lights, phones and gate signs are also installed. For disabled entrance the renovation has integrated ramps at the places where it is possible.

The international terminal improved its first phase in December 2007 and comprises a new international departure farewell area. It was built for a better queuing system for customs. It is a brilliant architectural work from a rock with internal designs.
