Kotoka International Airport lies at Accra in Ghana and is Africa’s most significant air facility that has ability for large aircraft like Airbus A380. This airport is operated by the Ghana Airports Company Limited and was registered in January 2006. It is the capital city of Ghana. The airport has civil and military uses. It started its trading on January 1, 2007 and handled the responsibility of managing all airports and aerodromes in Ghana like the Kotoka International Airport and local airports like Kumasi, Tamale, Sunyani and airstrips.

The airport has only one terminal with nearly 1,000 car parking spaces that are available to you for the entire 24 hours of the day. Usually this airport serves 1,083,431 passengers every year. This airport also served as the centre for organized U.S. military personnel in the year 2008 from several contingents.

Besides these, Cargo airlines that are operated from here are Aerogem Cargo, Air France, Avient Aviation and Cargolux.

Kotoka International Airport lies at a distance of 12 kilometre from the city centre of Accra. The Accra region is the gateway to Ghana and holds beautiful attractions. Almost all the facilities are provided to the passengers for their comfort level but the facilities for disabled tavellers are quiet less. So you have to contact the airline for further information.

Outside the airport you will get the taxis that you can hire. Outside the arrival hall you will get some booths of companies where you can hire a car like of the Avis and Europcar. So just hire a car and reach to your destination. Here you will get only metered or shared taxis to reach wherever you want. Metered taxis could be found near the arrivals at Car Park 2. You will also get a taxi from the airport.

Accra has an average temperature of about 30C. You can experience the coolest climate here during the month of June to September and at this time you will also experience the rainfall. So you can explore this place during that time and make a change in your life. Normally you can see wet and dry seasons. Hence, it is called as Accra has a tropical Savanna climate. From December to February the climate remains dry entirely and in the month of August the temperature is a little dry.
