When it comes about visiting the other country we normally think that which airport we are going to land and how that airport is. Is it provides facilities that we require and rest of the things. So I did the same thing but only after visiting the airport, which is known as La Guardia Airport (LGA). I experienced the airport is good enough that provides most of the things that we needed. The airport lies in Queens County on Long Island which is in the city of New York. The airport could be found on the waterfront of Flushing Bay and Bowery Bay and surrounds Astoria, Jackson Heights and East Elmhurst.
The airport got many names which were originally fixed as Glenn H. Curtiss Airport after aviation pioneer Glenn Hammond Curtiss but then it renamed again and again to North Beach Airport, then Fiorello H. La Guardia after a former mayor of New York who was actually built the airport and this name was officially finalized. In the year 1960, this airport was voted as the greatest airport in the world by the worldwide aviation community. La Guardia is the smallest areas of the New York metropolitan area’s situated along with two other airports and all three are close to Manhattan.
This airport handles nearly 23.1 million passengers every year. The airport lies at a distance of 13 kilometres towards the east of New York City and has total four terminals that are linked by buses and walkways. The four terminals are the Delta Terminal, Marine Air Terminal, Central Terminal Building (CTB) and US Airways Terminal. The airport also has an official website called www.laguardiaairport.com. One can reach to the airport from Manhattan through Grand Central Parkway East from Long Island. The airport is signposted so it is easier to reach till here. After reaching here you can park your car at the airport where 7,500 car park spaces are available. Short term and daily parking could be found in car parks 1,4,5,6 and 7. Long term parking is available at car park 3. Parking has many facilities available so you can enjoy them.
You can also hire car from various companies represented the airport. For that head to the desks of the car companies in the Arrivals levels of all the terminals. Public transportation includes bus and taxi that will take you to your destination in the city. For information related to the airport you will get many information desks throughout the central terminal building. Facilities like money and communications, eating and drinking, shopping, luggage and other facilities are provided by the airport. Other facilities include medical and dental service and also family assistance restroom. Disabled travellers can enjoy facilities like ramps, toilets, TDD phones, lifts, car parks and wheelschairs.

Those who want to accommodate a room at the airport then head to the hotels like Crowne Plaza, New York LaGuardia Airport Marriott, LaGuardia Airport Hotel and Clarion LaGuardia Airport. Take rest at the room and if you get time to explore the nearby attractions from the airport then do not miss it. Museums, lighthouses, beaches, parks and many other attractions are waiting for you. So whenever possible visit few of them as I enjoyed a lot. As most of the nationals are permitted to visit New York only with their valid passport you can be one of them. So better confirm it from your embassy whether you require a visa or not and enjoy your trip from the LaGuardia Airport.
