It is the major airport of the two commercial airports in the country. It has only one passenger terminal and the code is LCA. Departures and arrivals are accommodated on the upper and ground level respectively. For all aircrafts this airport uses a single huge apron. There are total 16 jetways available that links the terminal with aircraft. However, there is a condition for using shuttle buses to express passengers when there is a huge traffic.
New terminal was opened on 7 November, 2009 for commercial operations. It has 16 jetways, 67 check-in counters, 8 point for self-service check-in, 48 departure gates and 2,450 parking spots. This new terminal can handle nearly 7.5 million passengers for a single year. You can easily reach to the airport by car, taxi and public transport system.
