Rio de Janeiro-Galeão is an international airport of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. It is known as the Rio de Janeiro/Galeao – Antonio Carlos Jobim International Airport, which is often in short known by its former name Galeao International Airport. It is the major and largest international airport located in Brazil. The initial name of the airport ‘Galeao’ is actually the name of a beach that lies facing the old terminal.
Rio de Janeiro International Airport has a code as GIG and has an official website as www.infraero.gov.br. The airport has total two terminals. Galeao International Airport is situated at a distance of 20 kilometres towards the north of Rio de Janeiro.
